BOS - Contemporary Midwest Cuisine - Who We Are
DESIGN - The design direction is contemporary and comfortable. The restaurant features a gypsum relief wall sculpture exhibiting scenes of Italian villages by Tom Moberg, a local well-known artist. These were retained from the former restaurant Guido's and hand-colored to reflect the Des Moines area. The gypsum relief wall sculpture is open to guests entering the restaurant to inspire interaction between the restaurant and lobby. A glass enclosed wine bottle cabinet separates the main dining room from the private dining room. BOS offers a new vibrant spot for dining in the hotel and downtown while offering guests a sense of inviting contemporary Midwest cuisine and hospitality.
MENU (FOOD) - The menu will take a fine dining approach in preparing comfort foods using local products whenever possible. Breakfast will include staple items while also providing a few unique and whimsical twists. Lunch will cater largely to the downtown workforce with a variety of made-from-scratch soups, salads, and sandwiches. Our dinner menu will feature locally- and naturally-raised beef and pork products from Vande Rose Farms, from Oskaloosa, Iowa. The menu in its entirety is meant to be user-friendly, offering food and beverage that our guests will feel comfortable in both the ordering and enjoying.
MENU (BEVERAGE) - We offer a full range of bar options that consists of a variety of martinis, specialty drinks, and local brews and spirits. We are proud to offer local spirits, brews, and wine such as award winning Templeton Rye Whiskey from Templeton, Iowa, Clearheart Spirits from Cedar Ridge Vineyards in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Pointer Brown from Court Avenue Brewing Company in Des Moines, Iowa, Iowa Pale Ale from Millstream Brewery in Amana Colonies, Iowa, and "Estate Style" wines from Jasper Winery in Des Moines, IA. We also offer Prairie Organic Vodka from Phillips Distilling Company in Minnesota. Our variety of beers offered by the bottle with a seasonal changing line of beers on draft will also appeal to any beer enthusiast. Our wine list is spectacular in variety and quality and is served with the utmost care and professionalism. We offer an extensive wine list with more than 110 bottles to complement your dining experience.
